Iran says its new leader made his 1st address, vowing to keep Strait of Hormuz closed

The conflict with Iran has intensified, entering its 13th day, with Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly issuing a statement to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed and continue attacks on U.S. bases. This comes after his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed in an Israeli strike. The situation has escalated with attacks on commercial ships near Iraq and a significant rocket attack by Hezbollah on Israel, leading to Israeli retaliatory strikes. The violence has resulted in over 1,300 deaths in Iran, 634 in Lebanon, and 12 in Israel, with U.S. military casualties as well. The conflict has also caused oil prices to rise above $100 a barrel, affecting global markets. QUESTION: How might the ongoing conflict between Iran and other countries impact global relations and economies, and what role could young people play in promoting peace?
