Video shows 7-ton meteor exploding across the sky during the day

A meteoroid traveling at an astonishing speed of 45,000 mph was observed streaking across the sky in ten U.S. states, creating a spectacular fireball. This celestial event was not only a visual spectacle but also an auditory one, as many people reported hearing a loud boom akin to an explosion. According to NASA, the meteoroid fragmented upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere, which caused the bright fireball and the accompanying sonic boom. Such events occur when space rocks, known as meteoroids, enter the Earth’s atmosphere and burn up due to friction, creating a meteor or “shooting star.” This particular event captured the attention of many due to its wide visibility and the dramatic sound it produced, reminding us of the dynamic and sometimes unpredictable nature of our universe. QUESTION: How might witnessing such a rare astronomical event influence people’s interest in space and science?
