At least 66 killed in military plane crash in Colombia, head of armed forces says

A military transport plane carrying 128 people, mostly soldiers, crashed shortly after takeoff in Puerto Leguizamo, Colombia, resulting in at least 66 deaths and many injuries. The crash occurred in the remote Amazonian province of Putumayo, near the borders of Ecuador and Peru. General Hugo Alejandro López Barreto confirmed that four military personnel are still missing and stated there is no evidence of an attack. Local residents and officials quickly responded to assist the victims, with injured individuals being treated at local clinics before being transported to larger cities. The cause of the crash remains unknown, but it happened about two kilometers from the airport. The incident highlights the risks faced by military personnel and the importance of community support in emergencies. QUESTION: How might the community’s response to this tragic event influence the way people view the role of local residents in emergency situations?
