Travel through Vietnam’s Son Doong, the world’s largest cave passage

In 2009, the world discovered Hang Son Doong, the largest cave passage, located in Vietnam. British explorer Peter MacNab, akin to Neil Armstrong in the realm of caving, led the first expedition into this colossal underground world. The cave, with caverns as tall as skyscrapers, is accessible only by a challenging trek through Vietnam’s Truong Son Range. The journey follows the historic Ho Chi Minh trail, through dense jungle and across 20 river crossings. The cave’s entrance was first found by a local villager, Ho Khanh, in 1990, but it took years for explorers to relocate it. The cave’s discovery is a testament to the spirit of exploration and the wonders still hidden on Earth. QUESTION: How might the discovery of places like Hang Son Doong inspire future generations to explore and preserve the natural world?
