Humanoid robots show off their language and boxing skills in Hong Kong

In Hong Kong, a humanoid robot resembling a primary school student captivated audiences by singing and conversing in Mandarin and English at an exhibition featuring over 100 robots. The X2 Ultra robot, created by AGIBOT Innovation, demonstrated its ability to engage with people, listing hobbies like sports and music, and describing its surroundings. Calvin Chiu from Novautek Autonomous Driving highlighted the robot’s potential to provide emotional support and serve as a companion or teacher. China’s focus on advancing technology, particularly humanoid robots, is part of its strategic plan to compete globally. The country boasts over 140 manufacturers and more than 330 robot models, with companies like AGIBOT leading in global shipments. The exhibition showcased robots performing various tasks, from martial arts to security patrols. Robert Chan from EngineAI emphasized China’s advantages in engineering and collaboration, as his company prepares for mass production.
