Homeland Security worker and another woman are killed in a series of Atlanta-area attacks

An Atlanta man, Olaolukitan Adon Abel, has been charged with a series of violent attacks that occurred over several hours, resulting in the deaths of two women and leaving a man critically injured. One of the victims, Lauren Bullis, was a Department of Homeland Security employee, prompting a response from Homeland Secretary Markwayne Mullin. Mullin expressed concern over Abel’s U.S. citizenship, granted in 2022 under President Joe Biden, and highlighted his alleged criminal history. The attacks began with a woman shot near a Decatur restaurant, followed by a homeless man shot in Brookhaven, and concluded with Bullis found dead in Panthersville. Authorities believe at least one attack was random. Abel was arrested later that day and faces multiple charges, including malice murder. Bullis’ family remembered her as compassionate and loving. QUESTION: How might the citizenship process be impacted by incidents involving naturalized citizens committing crimes?
