‘Devastating tragedy’: 7-month-old dies after being left in hot car

A 7-month-old baby tragically died after being left in a hot car in Monterey, Tennessee, marking the second such incident in the U.S. this year. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department reported that the baby was found unresponsive in a car parked at the Monterey Library, with the engine off and windows up, on a day when temperatures reached 81 degrees. Sheriff Eddie Farris emphasized the importance of checking vehicles to prevent such tragedies, as over 1,172 children have died in hot cars in the U.S. since 1990, according to KidsAndCars.org. The investigation into this incident is ongoing. QUESTION: How might increased awareness and education about the dangers of hot cars impact future incidents?
