6 crew still missing after overturned ship that disappeared after typhoon is found near Saipan

A cargo ship named Mariana, which went missing with six people on board after a typhoon hit near Saipan, has been found overturned, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The ship was identified by an Air Force crew, and debris, including a partially inflated life raft, was discovered 95 nautical miles away. Despite extensive search efforts covering over 75,000 square nautical miles, the six individuals remain missing. The ship, registered in the U.S., experienced engine failure during the typhoon, which caused severe damage on Saipan. Communication with the crew was lost after they reported engine trouble. The typhoon’s impact delayed rescue operations due to prolonged fierce winds. QUESTION: How might the increasing frequency of severe weather events impact maritime safety and rescue operations in the future?
