1 killed, 5 injured and 5 in custody in shooting at Mall of Louisiana, police say

A tragic shooting at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge resulted in one death and several injuries, with five individuals now in custody, according to Police Chief Thomas Morse Jr. The incident, which is no longer considered an active shooter situation, began with an argument between two groups in the mall’s food court. Ten people were hospitalized, with some undergoing surgery. Authorities are still searching for additional suspects and have urged the public to provide any information or cellphone footage. Baton Rouge Mayor Sid Edwards expressed confidence in law enforcement’s ability to apprehend those responsible, emphasizing that such violence will not be tolerated in the city. The FBI is involved in the investigation, but details remain limited. QUESTION: How might community involvement and cooperation with law enforcement help prevent future incidents like this one?
