1 Killed and 5 Injured as Shooting Erupts at Mall in Louisiana

On Thursday afternoon, a shooting occurred in the food court of the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge, resulting in one death and five injuries. The Baton Rouge Police Department’s chief, T.J. Morse, described the incident as “targeted” during a news conference. The deceased and four other victims were taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where one underwent surgery and the others had minor injuries. Another person with minor injuries was sent to a different hospital. Among the victims were three seniors from Ascension Episcopal School in Lafayette.
