Ritchie allows HR on first big league pitch, then leads Braves over Nats 7-2 for 8th win in 9 games

JR Ritchie made an impressive major league debut for the Atlanta Braves, leading them to a 7-2 victory over the Washington Nationals. Despite allowing a home run on his first pitch, Ritchie settled down to give up just one more run over seven innings, striking out seven batters. Ozzie Albies contributed significantly with a home run and four RBIs, helping the Braves break a 2-2 tie with a four-run seventh inning. Atlanta’s win marked their eighth in nine games, while Washington has lost five of their last seven. Ritchie, a 22-year-old right-hander, was recently called up from Triple-A Gwinnett, where he had an impressive 0.99 ERA. The Braves’ victory was also supported by strong performances from other players, including Michael Harris II, who left the game due to an injury. QUESTION: How might JR Ritchie’s successful debut impact his future career with the Atlanta Braves?
