Alex Bonetig scores 1st MLS goal in stoppage time, Timbers beat San Diego 2-1

Alex Bonetig scored his first MLS goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time, leading the Portland Timbers to a 2-1 victory over San Diego FC. Kevin Kelsy had earlier given the Timbers a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute by skillfully dispossessing San Diego and scoring from the edge of the penalty area. San Diego’s Anders Dreyer equalized with a penalty in the 33rd minute. Despite San Diego’s efforts, they remain winless in seven games, having lost five in a row. Portland’s goalkeeper, James Pantemis, made three crucial saves to secure the win. QUESTION: How might a team’s morale and performance be affected by a long losing streak, and what strategies could they employ to overcome it?
