Fitzpatrick brothers post a tournament-record 57 and take a 4-shot lead in the Zurich Classic

Matt Fitzpatrick and his brother Alex set a tournament record with a 15-under 57 in the better-ball play at the Zurich Classic, giving them a four-shot lead going into the final round. The Fitzpatricks, at 30-under 186 through 54 holes, excelled in the PGA Tour’s only team event. Matt, who has been in top form with two recent wins, made impressive shots, including a chip-in birdie and a long eagle putt. Alex, aiming for his first PGA Tour title, contributed significantly with key birdies and a strong finish. Their performance came after a storm allowed players to adjust their balls in the fairway, and the weather conditions were mostly calm. Other teams, like Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer, who previously tied the course record, fell behind. The event also saw a hole-in-one by Zach Bauchou. QUESTION: How might achieving a significant milestone, like setting a tournament record, impact an athlete’s confidence and future performance?
