Swanson’s 2-run 9th-inning blast fuels Cubs’ comeback win, 10th in a row

Dansby Swanson’s two-run homer in the ninth inning led the Chicago Cubs to a 6-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, marking their 10th consecutive win. Swanson, batting from the No. 9 spot, delivered four RBIs, including a crucial 413-foot shot that scored Pete Crow-Armstrong. The Cubs initially trailed 4-0 against Dodgers starter Emmet Sheehan, who struck out 10 over 6 1/3 innings. However, the Cubs rallied against the Dodgers’ bullpen, scoring six runs off Alex Vesia, Blake Treinen, and Tanner Scott. Alex Bregman tied the game with a homer in the eighth, and Ryan Rolison secured the win with three scoreless innings. Corbin Martin earned his first save. The Dodgers’ early lead came from Will Smith’s three-run homer and Hyeseong Kim’s RBI single. Key Dodgers hitters, including Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman, struggled at the plate. Cubs pitcher Colin Rea was set to face Dodgers’ Roki Sasaki in the next game. QUESTION: How might the Cubs’ winning streak impact their confidence and performance in future games?
