Northern Ireland homes evacuated after reports of car bomb explosion

Police in Northern Ireland declared a security alert in Dunmurry, near Belfast, after a car bomb exploded outside a police station. Nearby homes were evacuated, and the public was advised to avoid the area. Sorcha Eastwood, a U.K. Parliament member, expressed distress over the incident, noting the potential danger to residents and businesses. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The motive for the attack remains unclear, but it follows a similar incident last month in Lurgan, where a bomb was placed in a car and driven to a police station. Authorities suspect dissident Republican groups, who oppose the peace process established by the 1998 Good Friday Accords, are responsible. These groups occasionally carry out attacks to provoke fear and maintain relevance. QUESTION: How might the continued actions of dissident groups impact the peace and stability achieved by the Good Friday Accords in Northern Ireland?
