Broncos’ 2-time Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons retires after 32 interceptions in his 9-year career

Justin Simmons, a two-time Pro Bowl safety, has announced his retirement after a nine-year NFL career, primarily with the Denver Broncos. Drafted by the Broncos in 2016 from Boston College, Simmons spent eight seasons with the team, earning two Pro Bowl selections and four second-team All-Pro honors. In his final season, he played for the Atlanta Falcons, starting 16 games and recording two interceptions. Throughout his career, Simmons was known for his consistent performance, intercepting at least two passes each season and leading the NFL with six interceptions in 2022. He started 124 of 134 games and finished with a total of 32 interceptions. Simmons expressed deep gratitude to the Broncos, calling the team his “heart, home, and story,” and affirmed his lifelong support for them. The Falcons also congratulated him on his retirement.
