New images show suspect taking selfies before Washington press dinner shooting

Newly released images show Cole Tomas Allen, accused of opening fire at the White House Correspondents’ dinner, taking selfies with weapons in a hotel room before the incident. Prosecutors have filed these photos as evidence to keep Allen detained before his trial. The 31-year-old, who has pleaded not guilty to charges including attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump, was seen posing with weapons and ammunition. During the event, Allen allegedly charged past security with a semi-automatic handgun, a pump-action shotgun, and knives, causing chaos as officials, including Trump and Vice-President JD Vance, were evacuated. A Secret Service agent was injured but not seriously. Prosecutors argue Allen’s actions were premeditated and dangerous, citing his online activity and notes about his journey from California to Washington. They insist he remains a threat if released before trial. QUESTION: How might the presence of social media and technology influence the behavior and planning of individuals involved in criminal activities?
