Tafari scores in stoppage time, LAFC beats Toluca 2-1 in 1st leg of CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal

Nkosi Tafari scored a crucial goal in stoppage time, heading in a free kick from Son Heung-Min, to secure a 2-1 victory for LAFC over Toluca FC in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup semifinal. The decisive second leg will take place on May 6 in Toluca. Earlier in the match, Timothy Tillman had given LAFC the lead with a goal in the 51st minute, but Toluca equalized in the 73rd minute with a strike from Jesús Ricardo Angulo. LAFC’s goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris, made key saves to keep the game level in the first half. Despite missing key players Denis Bouanga and Eddie Segura due to yellow card accumulation, LAFC managed to secure the win. QUESTION: How might the absence of key players in a crucial match impact a team’s performance and strategy?
