Ex-cellmate says he found suicide note from Jeffrey Epstein

A suicide note allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, is reportedly locked in the case file of his former cellmate, Nicholas Tartaglione, a convicted murderer. Tartaglione claims he found the note in July 2019, shortly after Epstein’s failed suicide attempt and two weeks before Epstein’s death by suicide in a Manhattan jail. The note, written on a yellow legal pad, reportedly contained cryptic messages and a smiley face. The New York Times has petitioned to unseal the note, arguing its relevance due to Tartaglione’s public discussion and its mention in Justice Department files. Federal prosecutors were unaware of the note, but a chart in Epstein’s files references it. Tartaglione’s lawyer authenticated the note in 2020 but has not commented further due to the case’s sealed status. Epstein had denied being suicidal after his first attempt. QUESTION: Why do you think the existence of Epstein’s alleged suicide note is significant to the public and legal proceedings?
