Forest hosts Villa in all-English Europa League semifinal and Freiburg is at Braga

Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are set to face off in the first leg of an all-English Europa League semifinal, marking a significant moment for both clubs as they aim to recapture past European successes. Nottingham Forest, returning to European competition after 30 years, reached the semifinals by defeating Porto, marking their first appearance at this stage since 1984. The club previously won the European Cup in 1979 and 1980. Aston Villa, European champions in 1982, advanced to the semifinals after a decisive victory over Bologna and is currently performing well in the Premier League. The two clubs have already met twice this season, with Villa winning one match and drawing the other. This semifinal is notable as the first all-English matchup since 1973. Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, Freiburg faces Braga, and in the Conference League, Crystal Palace plays Shakhtar Donetsk, and Rayo Vallecano meets Strasbourg. QUESTION: How might the outcome of this semifinal impact the future of English clubs in European competitions?
