Fulleffort scratched from the Kentucky Derby, putting Ocelli into the race

Fulleffort has been withdrawn from the Kentucky Derby, reducing the field to 20 horses just a day after Silent Tactic was also removed. The announcement was made by race officials on Thursday, allowing Ocelli to enter the race from the also-entered list. Trainer Brad Cox, who initially had three horses in the Derby, is now left with Commandment and Further Ado. This change means jockey Tyler Gaffalione will have to wait for another opportunity to secure his first Derby win. Ocelli’s trainer, Whit Beckman, was informed of the colt’s entry after a morning gallop at Churchill Downs and had been preparing Ocelli for the possibility of racing, anticipating potential withdrawals during Derby week. QUESTION: How might the last-minute changes in the Kentucky Derby lineup affect the strategies of trainers and jockeys?
