Ford recalls more than 179,000 vehicles over front seat defect

Ford is recalling over 179,000 vehicles due to a potential safety issue with the front seats that could increase the risk of injury in a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall affects 117,443 Ford Bronco SUVs and 62,255 Ford Ranger pickup trucks from model years 2024 through 2026. The problem involves front seat height-adjust pivot link bolts that may loosen or dislodge. Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to visit a Ford or Lincoln dealer for a free inspection and replacement of any faulty bolts. Initial notification letters are expected to be sent between May 11 and May 15, with follow-up letters confirming the availability of a fix between July 13 and July 17. This recall follows a previous recall of nearly 1.4 million F-150 pickup trucks due to a gearshift issue. QUESTION: How might frequent vehicle recalls impact consumer trust in a car manufacturer like Ford?
