McGreevy, Cardinals notch sixth straight win 3-2 as Dodgers’ slump continues

The St. Louis Cardinals secured their sixth consecutive victory by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2, with Jordan Walker hitting a home run and Michael McGreevy pitching six scoreless innings. The Dodgers, struggling offensively, have now lost four games in a row and have not hit a home run in five games, a first since 2015. Walker’s home run came after doubles by Iván Herrera and Alec Burleson, giving the Cardinals an early lead. McGreevy, aided by strong defensive plays, allowed only three singles and three walks. The Dodgers attempted a late comeback with RBI singles from Max Muncy and Andy Pages, but St. Louis closer Riley O’Brien secured the win. Roki Sasaki, the Dodgers’ pitcher, allowed three runs over six innings. The Cardinals, rebounding from a previous sweep by Seattle, are on their longest winning streak since last May. QUESTION: How might the Cardinals’ recent winning streak impact their confidence and performance in upcoming games?
