Ramírez steals 300th career base, Fry and Manzardo homer as Guardians rally past Athletics 14-6

In a high-scoring game, the Cleveland Guardians defeated the Oakland Athletics 14-6, highlighted by José Ramírez’s milestone of stealing his 300th career base. Ramírez’s two-run double in the fifth inning gave the Guardians their first lead, and he later stole third base, joining an elite group of active players with 300 or more stolen bases. David Fry and Kyle Manzardo contributed with home runs, while rookie Travis Bazzana recorded his first major league hit and RBI. Despite Shea Langeliers’ two home runs for the Athletics, Cleveland’s offense proved too strong. Slade Cecconi earned the win for the Guardians, who achieved their highest-scoring game since June 2023. The series finale will see Parker Messick pitching for Cleveland against Aaron Civale for Oakland. QUESTION: How do you think achieving personal milestones, like José Ramírez’s 300th stolen base, impacts a player’s career and team dynamics?
