One injured after plane hits truck while landing in Newark

A United Airlines Boeing 767, arriving from Venice, Italy, clipped a truck and a streetlight while landing at Newark Airport in New Jersey, resulting in minor injuries to the truck driver. The plane, carrying 231 passengers and crew, landed safely with no injuries reported on board. The truck’s employer revealed that one of the plane’s tires went through the truck’s window and windshield, causing glass to scatter. The driver sustained injuries from the glass and was treated for cuts on his arm and hand. United Airlines announced a thorough investigation into the incident, temporarily removing the crew from service and assessing the plane’s damage. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is involved, requesting the cockpit voice and flight data recorders for further examination. QUESTION: How might incidents like this influence future safety measures in aviation and ground operations at airports?
