Trump stops short of saying Iran violated ceasefire: ‘not heavy firing’

Recently, tensions have risen between the U.S. and Iran after Iranian forces attacked commercial ships near the Strait of Hormuz and targeted oil facilities in the United Arab Emirates. President Donald Trump, however, has not confirmed whether these actions violate the existing ceasefire. In a conversation with ABC News, Trump mentioned that while there was some firing, it wasn’t significant, and he is investigating the situation. He emphasized that Iran should hope the ceasefire remains intact, as it is in their best interest. Trump also suggested that South Korea should respond since one of their ships was attacked. Despite the incidents, Trump assured that the situation is under control and that the U.S. will prevail. QUESTION: How might ongoing conflicts like this one impact global relations and the future of international diplomacy?
