A judge unsealed Epstein’s purported 2019 suicide note. More documents could follow

The Department of Justice has released a note allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein in prison, which was unsealed by a judge after a petition from the New York Times. The note, found by Epstein’s former cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione, was discovered in July 2019, shortly after Epstein’s arrest for sex trafficking. Tartaglione, who was sharing a cell with Epstein at the time, claimed he found the note in a book after saving Epstein from a suicide attempt. Epstein later died by suicide in a different cell. The note’s release sheds light on Epstein’s final days and raises questions about the circumstances surrounding his death. QUESTION: Why do you think it took so long for Epstein’s note to be made public, and how might this delay affect public perception of the case?
