U.S. awaits Iran’s response on peace deal as month-long ceasefire holds

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have issued a warning that they will target U.S. sites in the Middle East if Iranian tankers are attacked, following recent U.S. strikes on two Iranian tankers in the Gulf of Oman. This threat comes amid diplomatic efforts to resolve tensions, with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani meeting U.S. officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, to discuss ending the conflict. Saudi Arabia is also working towards a ceasefire, with its top diplomat in communication with the Qatari prime minister. Meanwhile, violence continues in the region, as Israel conducted airstrikes in Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah positions and resulting in casualties, including civilians. Hezbollah retaliated with drone attacks on northern Israel, injuring several Israeli soldiers. The ongoing conflict highlights the fragile nature of the ceasefire and the complex geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. QUESTION: How might the ongoing tensions between Iran, the U.S., and other Middle Eastern countries impact global peace efforts and international relations?
