AI is a leadership problem, not a technology problem

Many executive teams have been investing in artificial intelligence (AI) for several years, but some are frustrated because their efforts have not translated into improved business performance. These executives are not skeptics; they are believers in AI who have initiated pilot programs and generated internal momentum. They even have presentations ready for their boards, showcasing ongoing projects. However, they struggle to establish a direct connection between their AI activities and the company’s profit and loss (P&L) statements. As the AI industry matures, this disconnect is becoming increasingly unacceptable, highlighting the need for clearer links between AI initiatives and tangible business outcomes.
