Death toll in attack on Kyiv apartment building now stands at 24

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a Russian missile attack on a Kyiv apartment building resulted in 24 deaths, including three children. The attack, part of Russia’s largest assault on Ukraine since the invasion, left 48 people injured in Kyiv. Despite a recent ceasefire attempt, Russia launched over 1,560 drones, damaging 180 sites across Ukraine. The missile used in the attack was recently manufactured, indicating Russia’s continued access to missile components despite sanctions. Ukraine observed a day of mourning for the victims. Additionally, a prisoner swap occurred, with 205 prisoners from each side returning home, marking the first phase of a larger exchange. QUESTION: How might the ongoing conflict and attacks in Ukraine influence the perspectives and future actions of young people living in the region?
