Marlins finish off a 3-game sweep in Washington with a 4-1 win over the Nationals

Max Meyer pitched seven strong innings, allowing just two hits, as the Miami Marlins defeated the Washington Nationals 4-1, completing a three-game sweep. Meyer, now 6-0, tied a franchise record for an unbeaten start to the season. Joe Mack’s two-run single in the eighth inning broke a 1-1 tie, securing the win for Miami. Esteury Ruiz’s early home run gave the Marlins a lead, but the Nationals tied it due to an error by Otto Lopez. Miami’s defense, including key plays by Nasim Nuñez, helped maintain the lead. Calvin Faucher and Pete Fairbanks closed out the game, with Fairbanks earning his seventh save. Both teams have a day off before their next series, with Miami facing Tampa Bay and Washington playing Arizona. QUESTION: How might the Marlins’ recent winning streak impact their confidence and performance in upcoming games?
