AI is eliminating entry-level jobs. Education needs to fill the gap

As employers cut back on hiring for entry-level positions, colleges and universities are challenged to find new ways for students to acquire the skills and experience traditionally gained through these jobs. The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has automated many tasks that were once part of early career roles, leading to a 35% decline in job postings since 2023. This shift has resulted in an experience gap, where entry-level candidates are not meeting the skill requirements that employers seek. With traditional pathways to skill acquisition disappearing, educational institutions must innovate to prepare students for the evolving job market.
