At least 12 people shot at an Ohio street festival and suspects remain at large, police say

A shooting near the Old West End Festival in Toledo, Ohio, left 12 people injured, with two in critical condition. The incident occurred on Saturday when at least two individuals exchanged gunfire, causing chaos among festival attendees. The festival, a popular annual event featuring music, food, and shopping, was canceled on Sunday following the violence. Police are still searching for the shooters and have not identified any suspects. Videos on social media captured the panic as people fled the scene, and emergency responders faced challenges due to traffic but managed to transport all victims to the hospital within an hour. The ages of the victims ranged from 14 to 61, with most in their early 20s. The shooting has cast a shadow over the festival, which is a significant event in Toledo’s historic district. QUESTION: How might the community come together to prevent such incidents from happening at future public events?
