NBA star James Harden arrested in Houston for unlawful carrying of a weapon

NBA superstar James Harden was arrested in Houston early Saturday morning for unlawful carrying of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor. Court records indicate that Harden was booked into the Harris County Jail around 5 a.m. and released on a $100 bond less than two hours later. The charge carries a potential maximum sentence of one year in county jail. Harden is scheduled to appear in court on June 22. The complaint alleges he was carrying an unholstered handgun in his vehicle, though details of the arrest remain unclear. Harden, who recently concluded his 17th NBA season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers in February. The Cavaliers acknowledged the arrest and are gathering more information. Harden’s representatives have not commented. QUESTION: How might public figures’ legal issues impact their careers and public perception?
