17 horses killed in barn fire at Saratoga Casino Hotel Harness Track

A devastating barn fire at the Saratoga Casino Hotel Harness Track in Saratoga Springs, New York, resulted in the deaths of 17 horses and injuries to another early Tuesday morning. The fire, which started around 2:30 a.m., affected a single barn in the backstretch area of the racetrack. Of the horses that perished, 11 were trained by Robyn Mongiardo and six by Timothy Benson.
