Skubal fans 8, Vierling and Carpenter homer as the Tigers beat the White Sox 4-3

In a close game, the Detroit Tigers edged out the Chicago White Sox 4-3, thanks to strong performances from pitcher Tarik Skubal and home runs by Matt Vierling and Kerry Carpenter. Skubal, in his second start since returning from injury, struck out eight and allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings. Drew Anderson secured the win in relief, while Kenley Jansen earned his eighth save. Notably, Tigers rookie Trei Cruz made his major league debut, continuing his family’s three-generation MLB legacy. For the White Sox, Randal Grichuk and Junior Perez hit home runs, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Detroit’s late-game rally. The teams will continue their series with a game on Saturday. QUESTION: How might the legacy of a family in professional sports influence the career choices of future generations?
