3 dead, 7 wounded in rare Philippines school shooting, police say

In Tacloban City, Philippines, a tragic shooting occurred at San Jose National High School, where two students, aged 14 and 15, opened fire, killing three classmates and injuring seven others. The suspects, who were reportedly bullied, were arrested after the incident. The shooting took place in the morning, and the suspects managed to bring firearms onto the campus due to limited security. The weapons, a 9 mm pistol and a .38 caliber revolver, were traced back to a policewoman and a security agency, respectively. Over 40 shell casings were found at the scene, and most victims were female students. The attack caused panic, with students hiding and fleeing the school. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called for a thorough investigation and increased security in public spaces. The incident highlights concerns about school safety and gun access. QUESTION: How might increased security measures in schools impact students’ sense of safety and freedom?
