Algeria rallies past Jordan 2-1 for its first win at a World Cup since 2014

Algeria secured a 2-1 victory over Jordan in the World Cup, coming from behind with two second-half goals from corner kicks. Substitute Nadhir Benbouali equalized in the 69th minute, and Amine Gouiri scored the winner in the 82nd minute, marking Algeria’s first World Cup win since 2014. This victory gives Algeria a chance to advance to the knockout round if they defeat Austria in their next match. Jordan, despite a strong effort, is out of contention after consecutive losses. Algeria’s coach, Vladimir Petkovic, praised the team’s improved performance in the second half, while Jordan’s coach, Jamal Sellami, expressed pride in his players despite the defeat. QUESTION: How might Algeria’s comeback victory inspire other teams or individuals facing setbacks?
