Mexico beats Czech Republic 3-0 to win all 3 World Cup group-stage matches for 1st time

Mexico’s national soccer team, led by coach Javier Aguirre, achieved a historic milestone by winning all three of its World Cup group-stage matches for the first time, culminating in a 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic. Key players included Mateo Chávez, who scored his first World Cup goal, and Julián Quiñones, who added another goal. Alvaro Fidalgo sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal. The team, which topped Group A, will advance to the knockout stage, playing at Estadio Azteca, where they remain undefeated in World Cup matches. The match also highlighted the debut of 17-year-old Gilberto Mora and the record-setting appearance of 40-year-old goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa in his sixth World Cup. Despite the triumph, the game was marred by a homophobic chant from fans. Mexico remains unbeaten in 11 games, showcasing Aguirre’s effective use of his roster.
