Cheryl Reeve steps away from the WNBA grind for a Hall of Fame induction

Cheryl Reeve, head coach of the Minnesota Lynx, is being inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, becoming only the second WNBA coach to receive this honor after Van Chancellor in 2001. Reeve, who has led the Lynx to four WNBA championships and the U.S. women’s Olympic team to a gold medal in 2024, joins a distinguished class that includes WNBA stars Candace Parker and Elena Delle Donne. Parker and Delle Donne, both celebrated for their achievements in the WNBA and international play, will also be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The class features other notable figures like ESPN broadcaster Doris Burke and international basketball stars. Reeve’s induction highlights her significant contributions to women’s basketball and her impressive coaching career, marked by 378 victories, just one shy of the all-time WNBA record. QUESTION: How might Cheryl Reeve’s induction into the Hall of Fame inspire future generations of female coaches and athletes?
