Russia reports one of the biggest Ukrainian drone attacks on its soil and annexed Crimea

Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that its air defenses intercepted 660 Ukrainian drones in a significant nighttime attack across 12 Russian regions, including the Crimea peninsula, the Black Sea, and the Azov Sea. This appears to be one of the largest drone assaults since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine over four years ago. Ukraine has been using long-range drones to target Russian infrastructure, disrupting fuel supplies and military operations, which has increased pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin. The attack followed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s announcement of a “40-day influence operation” to intensify efforts to end the war. In the Tula region, a private house was damaged, and a woman was injured. Moscow’s mayor reported that 47 drones were downed near the capital. Meanwhile, Russian attacks in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region resulted in two civilian deaths and several injuries. Ukraine’s air force intercepted most Russian drones but some missiles struck their targets. QUESTION: How might the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine influence global politics and international relations in the future?
