Afghanistan’s Taliban claims Pakistani airstrikes killed 36 civilians

Pakistani security forces conducted a ground operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, followed by targeted strikes on militant hideouts, resulting in the deaths of 29 fighters. This action was in response to recent militant attacks across Pakistan. However, Afghanistan’s Taliban regime reported that these strikes killed 36 civilians, including women and children, and injured over 150 others in the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar. Graphic images shared by the Taliban showed wounded children receiving medical care, though these claims have not been independently verified. The Taliban’s Foreign Affairs Ministry protested the airspace violation to Pakistan’s charge d’affaires in Kabul. The operation came after an attack on Pakistan’s paramilitary Rangers in Karachi, claimed by Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a faction of the Pakistani Taliban. Pakistan has faced increasing militant attacks, primarily attributed to the Pakistani Taliban and allied groups, distinct from the Afghan Taliban. QUESTION: How might ongoing conflicts between neighboring countries impact the lives of civilians living in border regions?
