CBS to host “The Great American Block Party 250” special on July 4

Americans are set to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary of independence with a series of nationwide events and performances. CBS will broadcast “The Great American Block Party 250,” a special program hosted by Tony Dokoupil and Nischelle Turner, live from the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. The event will feature performances by artists such as the Zac Brown Band, Jon Batiste, and the Goo Goo Dolls, with additional concerts in Los Angeles and Philadelphia featuring Queen Latifah, The Roots, and Jill Scott. The celebration will culminate in what is being touted as the largest fireworks display in history over the nation’s capital. Other festivities will take place in cities like Los Angeles, Milwaukee, and New York, and will include the opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in North Dakota. The event will air on CBS and be available for streaming on Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7.
