More than 100,000 fireworks recalled ahead of July 4

More than 100,000 fireworks are being recalled nationwide just before the Fourth of July due to malfunction risks that could lead to explosions and burns, according to federal safety regulators. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Winco’s “Unity 7 Shot” 200-gram aerial cake fireworks are being recalled because they can tip over, posing serious injury risks. Over 87,000 units sold between January and May are affected, and customers can return them for a full refund at the purchase location. Additionally, Winco’s “Roman Candles 8 Shot 3-Pack Firework Devices” are also recalled for potentially blowing out the side of their tube, risking burns. Approximately 13,500 units are involved in this recall. No injuries have been reported so far. Fireworks sales generated about $2.2 billion in 2025, and this figure might increase as the U.S. celebrates its 250th anniversary. QUESTION: How might the recall of these fireworks impact the way people celebrate the Fourth of July this year?
