Overcrowded bus plunges into ravine in southwest Pakistan, killing 40 passengers and injuring 8

In southwestern Pakistan, a tragic accident occurred when an overcrowded passenger bus veered off a highway and fell into a rocky ravine, resulting in the deaths of 40 people and injuries to eight others. The incident happened in Dana Sar, near the border of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. The bus was carrying passengers from another broken-down bus, leading to overcrowding. An argument reportedly broke out between passengers and the driver, which may have contributed to the crash. Rescue teams transported the injured to hospitals, and authorities are investigating the incident. Pakistan’s President and Balochistan’s Chief Minister expressed condolences and emphasized the need for proper medical care for the injured. This accident highlights ongoing issues with road safety in Pakistan, including poor road conditions and inadequate traffic law enforcement. QUESTION: What measures could be implemented to improve road safety and prevent such tragic accidents in the future?
