150 people from 50 countries become US citizens at Mount Vernon on America’s 250th birthday

On July Fourth, 150 individuals from 50 different countries gathered at George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate to become U.S. citizens, marking America’s 250th birthday. Among them was U.S. Marine Sgt. Diakaria Sangare from Guinea, who wore his Dress Blue uniform adorned with medals. The ceremony included the national anthem and the Oath of Allegiance, with participants standing as their countries were called. The event highlighted the diverse backgrounds of the new citizens, many of whom fled violence or persecution. The ceremony took place under a historic tulip poplar tree planted by Washington himself, symbolizing the enduring legacy of the nation. QUESTION: How might the diverse backgrounds of new citizens influence the future of the United States?
