Flau’jae Johnson scores 23 and the Storm beat the Sparks 82-64

Flau’jae Johnson led the Seattle Storm to an 82-64 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, scoring 23 points. Natisha Hiedeman contributed 15 points, while Jade Melbourne added 11 for Seattle, which improved its away record to 2-9. Katie Lou Samuelson hit three 3-pointers, and Awa Fam was instrumental with four steals. Despite Dearica Hamby’s 17 points and Nneka Ogwumike’s double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, the Sparks suffered their third consecutive loss. Seattle’s defense was strong, limiting Los Angeles to just eight points in the third quarter, their lowest in a quarter this season. Dominique Malonga made history by becoming the youngest WNBA player to reach 300 career rebounds. The game was attended by South Carolina coach Dawn Staley and NBA star Kevin Durant. Seattle will face Atlanta next, while Los Angeles will host Indiana. QUESTION: How might the presence of influential figures like Dawn Staley and Kevin Durant at games impact the players and the sport’s popularity?
