Video appears to show United employee threatening to call ICE on customer

A United Airlines employee at San Francisco International Airport was caught on video threatening to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on Julio Varela, a U.S. citizen, during a ticketing dispute. Varela, traveling with his family, encountered the issue when an employee was dismissive and refused to provide her name after a ticketing error with his daughter’s name. The situation escalated when the employee suggested calling ICE, causing distress to Varela and his family. The incident, recorded by Varela, went viral on social media. Despite the confrontation, the ticket issue was resolved, and the family boarded their flight. United Airlines is investigating the incident but has not commented further. QUESTION: How might incidents like this impact the trust between customers and airline employees, and what steps could be taken to prevent similar situations in the future?
