Trump wanted interest rate cuts to be ‘Rocket Fuel’ for the economy. He is losing that fight so far

President Donald Trump has been unsuccessful in his efforts to lower interest rates, which he believes should be the lowest in the world to boost the U.S. economy. Despite his pressure on the Federal Reserve to cut rates, borrowing costs have risen, especially since the war in Iran began, making it harder for families to afford loans and increasing the government’s debt servicing costs. Interest rates on U.S. Treasury bonds have reached their highest levels in nearly two decades, contrary to Trump’s promises.
