These Cyborg Cockroaches Could Save Your Life

Researchers from the University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales have developed a new type of cyborg insect called the “Paraborg,” which could revolutionize disaster response. These enhanced cockroaches are equipped with cameras and injection mechanisms to help locate and provide first aid to victims in disaster zones, such as collapsed buildings. The Paraborgs are controlled remotely using electrodes attached to their antennae and cerci, allowing them to navigate tight spaces that are inaccessible to humans or larger robots.
